We Document Every Detail Of Our Amarillo Foundation Projects
It Pays To Keep Track Of Everything. Here’s Why We Document
And File Every Project We Complete In The Texas Panhandle.
When it comes to your home, your foundation is in it for the long haul. It’s not something you want to last a FEW years. It’s something you want to last a lifetime.
And part of keeping your foundation in ship shape for decades to come is knowing what’s been done and when. That’s one reason we keep track of EVERY foundation project we do from New Mexico to the Texas Panhandle
As soon as a project is complete, we file it away so we can access it if we need it. It helps us rest easy, and it’s also a great way to ensure we don’t miss ANY details if we ever need to work on your foundation again.
Most other foundation repair companies just aren’t that meticulous.
But when you’ve been in business for almost 50 years, you learn the importance of keeping good records. While our records don’t go back quite that far, we have extensive records going back at least 20 years.
Tracking Progress And Minimizing Damage
One reason we document and photograph every project we work on is so we can keep careful track of progressing cracks or other signs of foundational instability
If we look at a photo from ten years ago and see a crack that looks no different than it does today, we can assume the damage is not advancing too rapidly.
On the other hand, if we look at a picture from ten years ago and see that a now large crack was tiny or non-existent, we know the problem is getting worse.
We’ll also know exactly what work has been done on your foundation and when.
For instance, if it’s been more than four or five years since your last pier & beam adjustment, you may be due for it.
It’s always best to keep up with this type of general maintenance if you want your foundation to last.
Quality Control
Another reason we’re so adamant about documentation is to perform quality control on our work.
If we don’t have a record of what we’ve done on every project, we have no way of assessing our own work and documenting our own progress.
Of course, this level of oversight is only possible because all of our technicians are in-house employees. We know EXACTLY who worked on every project and when.
Unfortunately, most contractors aren’t that thorough.
If your project was handled by subcontractors or a company that is no longer in business, you could find yourself without any record of the work that was done.
Not only is this a hassle for paperwork purposes, but it also can leave you less equipped to deal with serious or advancing issues with your home’s foundation.
Unless you bothered to take extensive photos yourself, you would be completely out of luck when it came to tracking the advancement of your foundation problems.
Luckily, with Childers Bros, you won’t have to worry about photographing and documenting every detail of your foundation project because we’ll do that for you!
